If God created the Earth in seven days, you can perfectly explore Menorca in a week. If you are one of those who do not feel like planning your trip, do not have time, or want someone or something to tell you what you really should do when you come to Menorca, this is your ideal tip.
First of all, remind you that you must download our app. It is not mandatory but it is necessary. Why? Because with our app you will be able to know and explore everything about Menorca. We guide you and improve your travel experience based on your needs and tastes. Yes, you're reading that right, we won't notify you of anything you don't want to know about. We suggest plans, activities, what to eat, where, what to buy, what to visit... So now you know, type in the App Store or Google Play: 'MenorcaExplorer' and download it for free.
Finally and before starting, we must warn you that this itinerary will have to be modified depending on your accommodation on the island. Being in Ciudadela is not the same as being in Mahón. So if you stay in Ciudadela, you will have to adapt this itinerary, since we have planned it for those who stay in the capital. Yes? Let's keep going.
The first day everything will depend on the time of arrival. Suppose you arrive first thing in the morning. The first thing you will do is go to your accommodation. You will leave the suitcases, you will settle down and you will ask yourself the typical questions: And now what? What do we do?
First put on your swimsuit, grab your backpack, a towel and head to the car. You will visit the southeast of the island to enjoy the beaches of Binibequer Nou and Es Caló Blanc. The first is a white sand beach with crystal clear waters. Quite touristy, but beautiful enough that you don't care. Es Caló Blanc is a small cove that has become one of the most popular areas. When you can no longer take sun and water (can one get tired of this?), you will return to the hotel to clean up and move.
In the afternoon the plan will be to visit the capital: Mahón. It is a small but immensely beautiful city. If you want to have dinner, we recommend that you do it in the area of the Port of Mahón. You will find an infinity of bars and restaurants to enjoy the gastronomy of the island in front of what is the second largest natural harbor in the world.
On this second day you will head towards the pretty girls of the island. Cala Macarella and Cala Macarelleta. Recognized as one of the best beaches in Europe and the world, these coves are a must. It is worth mentioning that if you go by car, from July 1 to September 30, you must park it in Ciudadela. Why? It cannot be accessed by private vehicle. Yes, a pity, but everything is to preserve and respect the sustainability of our territory. We would not be a paradise if we do not take care of what makes us unique. However, a public transport line has been set up to go there.
On the way back and assimilating the paradise where you have been, the best thing you can do is visit Ciudadela. An amazing city full of history. You can stroll through the historic quarter, visit the famous Plaza des Born, and then go to the port of Ciudadela for a drink. We recommend that if you want to eat in a restaurant or bar, make a reservation in advance. During the months of June, July and August, finding a free table is usually an impossible task.
On the third day you will visit the north of the island and one of its most beautiful villages. You don't need to get up early, you're on vacation, but don't get up late either, as the beach you'll visit is usually quite crowded. Cala Pregonda is for many the best beach on the island along with Macarella and Macarelleta. It is located in the north of the island and is a virgin cove with reddish sand and crystal clear waters. It is accessed on foot along Camí de Cavalls, although you can leave your car in the car park near Cala Binimel·là. From the car park to Cala Pregonda there are about 20-30 minutes walking.
At sunset you will take the departure back to go to Fornells, one of the most charming fishing villages in our territory. A town with a magnificent bay, and ideal for tasting the famous 'Lobster Stew'.
You will see that time flies here. On this fourth day the plan will be to visit two other of the best beaches in Menorca. Yes, you will have already noticed that we have said that all the beaches are the best. But on our island there are many, and all of them are beautiful, so it is difficult to compare and decide which one is better; Cala Mitjana and Cala Trebaluger are located in the southeast of the island, near Ciudadela. The first is approximately 30 minutes by car from Mahón, and you can access it by car, as it has a nearby car park. The distance between the car park and the cove is 15-20 minutes on foot; In order to go to Cala Trebaluger, you must first arrive at Cala Mitjana. On the left, you will find some natural stone steps. Go up to the top and start walking the path. 20 minutes later, you will find Cala Trebaluger, for us it is in the top 5 of the best beaches.
After having enjoyed another day in paradise, in the afternoon you will visit Mercadal, a town that is located in the center of Menorca. A charming place that has several restaurants and bars for you to rest and enjoy the Menorcan night.
How about a kayak activity in the southeast of the island, visiting the most famous fishing village? And watching the sunset in Binidalí? I'm sure great.
So, we will return to the area you visited on the first day. With the company DMS Kayak you will enjoy a kayak excursion that will be unforgettable. Yes friend, a little exercise is not bad for us. This way you will also see the coast of Menorca and its incredible natural landscapes.
At the end of the activity, you will go to one of the most instagrammable places in Menorca. An incredible fishing village dressed in white. Get lost in its alleys and enjoy the magic that overflows this charming place. Then, before sunset, head to Binidalí, an incredible place with high cliffs to enjoy a perfect sunset. The best way to end the day.
On this penultimate day you will go to one of the most popular beaches in Menorca, and you will experience the sunset in one of the most beautiful areas. Ready? Well come on. Cavalleria beach is located to the north and has a not too large nearby car park. White and bottled, milk. Try to go early to find a seat. The distance between the parking lot and the beach is about 10 minutes walking. Before arriving you will find spectacular views. So leave the umbrella, the cooler and whatever you're carrying, take out your cell phone and take a picture. Then you can enjoy your day at the beach in this Eden.
Later, when the sun begins to fall over the Mediterranean Sea, it will be time to pack your things, go back to the car and head towards the Cavallería lighthouse. It's not very far, about 5 minutes. There you will live one of the best sunsets you have seen 'in your life'. A lighthouse that is located on a cliff 40 meters above sea level, from where an infinite horizon can be seen. Spectacular.
On the seventh day, God rested. You will do the same. You have probably already visited and enjoyed the top places on the island, or so we hope. Now is the time to buy some other souvenir for yourself, for your parents, friends, family or for whoever you want. In addition, it would not be bad to buy some other typical product of our island such as cheese, sobrasada, carnixua, honey or a Mahón gin. When you return home, enjoying these products will make you remember the magnificent experience you had in Menorca.
Little more. So far our tip to live, enjoy and explore Menorca in seven days. Here are other articles that may be of interest to you:
